Chasing the Beast

Darek Voss told me of a rare beast called the gambito, a sly creature that only the most patient can track. He claims catching its trail is a mark of worth among the Halmayans. I agreed to hunt it down, though I’ve never heard of such a thing before. My search begins near Sorwynn’s Cup.

Steps

#	Step	Summary	NPC	Completion
1	Look Sorwynns Cup	Look for the gambito near Sorwynn’s Cup.
2.1	Search Barrels	Search for the gambito in the barrels.
2.2	Check Boxes	Check if the gambito is in the boxes.
2.3	Trackto Outhouse	Track the gambito to the outhouse.
2.4	See Chicken Coop	See if the gambito is in the chicken coop. I searched the area near Sorwynn’s Cup, but there were no tracks, no fur, nothing at all to suggest a living beast had passed through here.
3	Talkto Matteo	Ask about the gambito to Matteo Cavalli.	Mateo Cavalii Npc	Matteo swore he once saw a gambito, small, fast, with glowing red eyes. He repeated a tale his grandmother told: sighting one brings either fortune or ruin. He suggested I search near Harthbay, where the beast is said to drink.
4	Search Harthbay	Search for the gambito in Harthbay.
5.1	Check Nets	Check if the gambito is caught on the nets.
5.2	Look Tower	Look if the gambito is up in the tower.
5.3	Examine Salt Basket	Examine the salt basket for gambito’s tracks. I scouted across Harthbay, but again, no sign of the gambito. Only silence, water, and empty shorelines. My patience wears thin.
6	Question Innkeeper Harthbay Innkeeper
7	Huntin Redhold	Hunt for the gambito in Redhold.
8.1	Check Hay Bale	Check if the gambito is in the hay bale. I searched the whole of Redhold, and once more, found no creature at all. The trail feels colder than ever. This chase is turning into a fool’s errand.
8.2	Look Horizon	Look on the horizon for signs of the gambito.
9	Inquire Valon	Inquire about the gambito to Valon Peres.	Valon Peres	Valon didn’t mince words. He said the gambito doesn’t exist at all: just a Halmayan trick, a trial for new recruits. Some take it as a game, others storm off in anger. He claimed he ignored it when they tried the same on him. At last, the truth seems clear.
10	Return Darek	Return to Darek.	Darek Voss	I confronted Darek, who admitted the gambito was nothing but tradition, a hazing dressed as a trial of patience. At least the wild chase earned me a good reward, though I’ll remember how easily they toyed with me.
