I met a merchant from Harthbay whose shipment had been stolen by smugglers. They’ve been preying on the village on and off, but no one has managed to find them yet. If I track them down, there’s a reward — and the merchant has promised to put in a good word with the Halmayans. That could help earn their trust. Zakar doesn’t know the smugglers’ exact location, but he suspects they’re not far from Harthbay and remain close to the shore so they can slip away by boat if danger approaches.
